The various consistencies of the EpilaDerm®-Sugarpaste (Strong, Soft and Mix) with different degree of viscosity allows for the individual adjustment of the optimum consistency of the paste according to the specific skin- and hair conditions, body region, room- and body temperatures.
It is always the goal to work with an optimum consistency (not to hard and not to soft), which means the application of the paste onto the skin is pleasant for the customer as well as easily done without using any pressure on the skin and hairs. In addition this enables the sugar paste by itself to sink deeper into the hair follicle, thus allowing for a thorough removal of the hairs. The experienced user can hereby quicker, softer and more thoroughly remove hairs on all body- and facial parts.
Determining and adjusting the optimum consistency is a matter of experience and practice. For this purpose the Profi Mix is primarily used to make either the Profi Strong or Profi Soft sugar paste thinner respectively more fluid.
NB: Never adjust the consistency through the pre heating!
The use of harder consistencies is useful when the paste is expected to absorb more moisture induced by transpiration from the customer. Also in case of very warm room temperatures (such as in summer) it can be beneficial to use the harder consistencies.
This depends on the depilation history and genetic disposition of the individual and can therefore be different from one client to another. Especially in case of persons, who are unaccustomed to hair removal with sugar paste – and even waxing – these persons may experience a temporary increase in hair growth following the first two to four treatments. This is explained through the body´s reaction to the root-deep and more efficient epilation from the sugar paste method, as this can cause the anagen phase of dormant papilla cells to reset themselves. This can lead to a synchronisation of more hair follicles to enter the anagen phase at the same time, as the case was before. However this is, as mentioned above, only a temporary condition and observation, which will improve – also with higher efficacy for the subsequent EpilaDerm® treatments – with more visible results and more evenly structured hair regrowth by the following hair removal sessions.
By pre heating the sugar paste to body temperature of 30° to max. 35°C the paste obtains its preferred working temperature and is easier to take out of the canister and to work with. This also supports the sugar paste additionally in sinking deeper into the hair follicle. In addition it increases the comfort for the customer.
The use of powder free Latex- or Nitril-Gloves is advised for improved hygiene. The gloves also prevents the absorption of hand sweat into the sugar paste, which otherwise could make it too soft.
